Depression is a mental disorder caused by various internal and external factors, most often manifested by depression, apathy, lack of energy and motivation, and mood swings. Having a tendency to depression or suffering from it, thoughts of suicide often arise, and the need to harm oneself arises. As can be seen, there are many and various warning signs of possible depression, so it is appropriate to group them. The following groups of symptoms of depression are usually distinguished - thoughts and feelings, physical symptoms (decreased sexual needs, changed eating and sleeping patterns, fatigue), activities and relationships (inability to work, lack of motivation, isolation from loved ones). In addition, these symptoms vary depending on the type of depression (postpartum depression, seasonal, masked, senile depression, dysthymia, etc.) and severity (mild, moderate, severe depression). People with depression are often stigmatized - they are called lazy, neglectful; they lack support from loved ones, respect for them and their illness. However, there are also those who engage in self-diagnosis, claiming to be depressed. It is important to understand that every person faces a more difficult life situation, when sadness does not go away for some time, a depressed mood, apathy sets in, and they do not want to do anything, but this is not necessarily a disease. Depression is an extremely complex condition that affects a person's everyday life, weakens their emotional and physical well-being, and painfully affects not only the sufferer but also their loved ones. Only a competent specialist can diagnose it, so it is very important to seek help as early as possible and look for ways to help them recover and get stronger.
