Post-traumatic stress disorder

post-traumatic stress

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an emotional disorder that occurs after experiencing something extremely traumatic (violence, loss, divorce, illness, car accident, etc.), experiencing great tension, fear, grief. The symptoms of post-traumatic stress are many and varied, but the most common are: outbursts of anger, aggression, irritability, sleep disorders, fatigue, panic attacks, intrusive memories, “sticky” thoughts, constant tension, impaired attention and memory. Each symptom manifests itself differently depending on how a person seeks to help themselves, the complexity of the experience, the person’s character traits, and emotional stability. If the symptoms of post-traumatic stress persist for a long time (more than a month), you cannot cope with them on your own, they prevent you from returning to a full-fledged everyday life or affect your relationships with others, it is worth seeking professional help.
